Asia is a continent steeped in mystery, tradition, and great history. On this continent everything has deep meaning from the zodiac signs to the characters used in written language. If you are a bride looking to bring the mystery and wonder of the Asia to your wedding, there are several great ways to do so by using Asian wedding favors. You may be a native of Asia simply looking to introduce the flavor of home, along with your family’s culture, into your marriage. Asian Favors for your Wedding

Asian Favors for your Wedding

Getting to choose the right favors for an Asian wedding depends upon the country you want to specifically represent and also the diverse traditions of each region. Now if the bride and groom are not of Asian heritage then the plans may be different and they may just want to bring an Asian theme to the wedding ceremony. Here are a few good tips:

1 – In order to determine the theme of the ceremony and reception and figure which tradition would be honored based on the specific region, be sure to hold a meeting with the wedding party.

2 – For a Chinese ceremony choose the Chinese themed wedding favors. Fortune cookies, for example, with personalized messages from the bride and groom can be a unique way to entertain and thank your guests for attending. Chinese tea gift boxes or Chinese paper lanterns could be a nice way to honor your family and friends.

3 – Choose Japanese wedding favors that are appropriate for that culture for a Japanese ceremony. Things like colorful hand held fans, chopsticks made from porcelain could be appreciated by your Japanese guests. For other unique ideas to remember the ceremony, you may want to have the groom and bride’s names written in Japanese characters on rice paper.

4 – When selecting Asian wedding favors, don’t mix traditions from different countries. It tends to show a lack of sensitivity to your Asian guest by confusing one tradition with the other. There are exceptions like maybe if the bride and grooms come from different backgrounds, then it would only make sense to represent them both. Now if you are choosing the themes for aesthetic reasons and are not of Asian descent, you still risk offending your Asian guests if you offer vague or generic favors.
